So much wickedness is being pushed on the public. Sometimes it seems overwhelming to fight against evil. At least we know we are on the right side when we recognize and hate evil:
“To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.” Proverbs 8:13
We fight against evil with spiritual weapons (1 Corinthains 10:3-6 Ephesians 6:10-18): truth, obedience, love, faith, wisdom, the word of God and prayer. For instance, I pray that truth will be made known and justice done in many situations. Thank goodness for those who research, find the facts and make the truth known about Christianity, politics, health, etc.
A good consequence of all the evil being promoted is that people are hearing the truth being proclaimed by Bible-believing Christians who point out error:
“And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.” Malachi 3:18
Christians have (or should have) the “mind of Christ” 1 Corinthians 2:16 When the truth is made known each individual will have a chance to decide to follow Jesus Christ.
Also, those who already know Jesus will gain discernment when there is a clear distinction between good and evil. The Apostle Paul prayed for the Philippians to gain knowledge and depth of insight:
“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ–to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11
“Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.” Proverbs 28:5 We can know the truth in all situations if we seek the Lord. Truth is one of our spiritual weapons. We need to pray for the truth to be have known, pray for those who are suffering persecution for proclaiming the truth, pray for those who are sacrificing by spending time and money researching and making known the truth, and we need to be living the truth.
“But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” Hebrew 5:14 The longer we know God and the more we obey Him, the more wisdom we will have to discern good from evil.
The good news is our land can be healed:
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 It is not impossible. “My people” is not everyone; but that is who is required to repent and earnestly pray.
