“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. (15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. (16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Mark 4:21-25
“He said to them, ‘Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? (22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.
(23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.
(24 Consider carefully what you hear,’ he continued. ‘With the measure you use—it will be measured to you—and even more. (25 Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.’”
Luke 8:16-18
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. (17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. (18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him.”
Luke 11:33-36
“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.
(34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness.
(35 See to it, the, that the light within you in not darkness. (36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it is dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.”
