"The expression "time" is a period of time, either a "day" or a "year". The context must be used to determine which. " Bible Time under Years on the Internet.

Another example of when "time" is used for a year: The expression "time, times and half a time" is used Daniel 7:25, 12:7 and Revelation 12:14. Forty two months is used in Revelation 11:2 and 1,260 days is used in Revelation 11:3, 12:6. Revelation 12:6 and 12:14 are talking about the same time period–equating the two. "Time, times and half a time" is an important time period. It is 3 1/2 years–the last half of the final seven years before Jesus sets up His kingdom.
